Description
This lot on Daufuskie Island is directly on the ICW. New covered pier head and 30' boat float. Septic tank and well already on property. Daufuskie Island is located between Hilton Head, SC and Savannah, GA. This is a true island, you cannot drive to it, you must take a ferry or your own boat. The ferry leaves from Hilton Head and Savannah throughout the day, a pleasant 45 minute ride. There is no place on the east coast that comes close to Daufuskie. Only a couple of hundred full time residents, life is slow here and good. One main paved road, the other roads are dirt. Most people get around on golf carts. The island is about 5 miles long with beautiful undeveloped beaches on the Atlantic side and the ICW on the other side where this lot is located. You can get in your boat and be in the Atlantic in just a few minutes or just take your golf cart down the road and be on the beach in 10 minutes. This however is not a deserted island. One of the most prestigious country clubs to be found anywhere is located on Daufuskie Island, Haig Point, with Reese Jones designed golf course, this club is the best of the best. Also on the island is Daufuskie Island Resort and Breathe Spa with two 18 hole golf courses, equestrian facilities, and famous Breathe Spa. Daufuskie is also home of the International Junior Golf Academy where students from around the world develop their golfing skills while attending school on the island. The island is only about a mile off the coast of Hilton Head Island and Harbor Town, a very short ride by private boat or water taxi. The main ferry however departs Hilton Head Island from the northern end of the island so it takes about 45 minutes, same from Savannah. Not only a golfers paradise, this is a boaters dream world. Unlimited boating opportunities on the ICW as well as very close and protected proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. The lot has no building restrictions, not in a subdivision, located in the Historic District. Also located on the island are a few eclectic "shops" and the ever popular Marshside Mamas restaurant where they serve the best shrimp and grits to be found anywhere! Daufuskie Island, you can't drive to it, no bridges, no problems. If you are looking for place for a vacation cottage, permanent residence or fish camp, this lot on deep water ICW will not disappoint you.
